India’s Dream is Broken! Nicaragua’s Sheynnis Palacios Won The Crown of Miss Universe 2023

This year, the 72nd Miss Universe pageant was held at the Jose Adolfo Pineda Arena in San Salvador, the capital of El Salvador. The final of the Miss Universe competition was held recently. In this, Shanice Palacios of Nicaragua has been announced as the winner of Miss Universe 2023.

She was crowned Miss Universe 2022 – R’Bonney Gabriel of USA. Australia’s Moraya Wilson became the second runner-up while Thailand’s Antonia Porsild became the first runner-up in the beauty pageant.

The pageant was hosted by Jeannie Mai and Maria Menounos and former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo. This year around 84 contestants participated in the Miss Universe competition. 20 contestants were selected for the semi-finals which included India’s Shweta Sharda. This time in the final stage, the contestants were asked which woman’s life they would like to live for a year and why?

Miss Australia took her mother’s name while Miss Thailand named Malala Yousafzai. She said that her struggle and success inspires her a lot. Miss Nicaragua’s Shanice Palacios’ answer was the most unique and unexpected. She mentions the name of Mary Wollstonecraft who is known as a women’s rights activist and the mother of feminism. This answer made her the winner of the Miss Universe pageant.

This year Shweta Sharda from Chandigarh represented India in Miss Universe 2023. She made it to the top 20 finalists. This year, Pakistan also debuted in Miss Universe for the first time.
