Rains to Bring Respite from Unusual Heat in Bengaluru, Other Parts of Karnataka

Giving hopes of respite from the unusual heat, the Met Office has predicted light to moderate rains in Bengaluru and other parts of Karnataka in the next 48 hours.
According to the latest forecast of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bengaluru and its adjoining areas will witness cloudy weather with light to moderate rain and thundershowers towards evening or night.
The Met Office has also predicted rain in other parts of the state, including districts of South Interior Karnataka and isolated places in all the districts of coastal Karnataka, Bidar, Bagalkote, Haveri, Koppal, Kalaburgi, Raichur, Vijayapura, Yadgir districts of North Interior Karnataka.
However, dry weather is likely to prevail over the remaining districts of North Interior Karnataka.
Issuing a thunderstorm warning, the Met Office said, “In the next 24 hours, a thunderstorm with rain accompanied by lightning and gusty winds with speed reaching 40-50 kmph is likely to occur in isolated places throughout Interior Karnataka.”
