The future of Repsol Honda racer Marc Marquez is currently still up in the air. Marc Marquez has not yet decided whether to stay at Honda or look for other alternatives for the 2024 season.
The racer who was once nicknamed Baby Alien has just finished testing for the 2024 Honda motorbike at the Misano Circuit on Monday, September 11 2023. After testing the capabilities of the Honda RC213V prototype, Marquez said he would soon announce a decision regarding his future.
He said the announcement would be made after the Indian MotoGP . The eight-time world champion admitted that he is currently still working on three options for facing next season.
However, he ensured that only close people knew what his options were.
“There is a plan, plan B and plan C, of which I mentioned two, more precisely there are three. I have three plans, all of them are very clear and what needs to be done for each of them,” said Marquez, quoted from the official website. MotoGP, Thursday, 14 September 2023.
Even so, Marquez is reluctant to rush into deciding his future.
“But there is not much time. There is a deadline, around the India series, or the Japan series I will decide,” he continued.
It is known that Marquez still has a contract with Honda until the 2024 MotoGP. However, he has the option to join Gresini, Aprilia, and KTM is said to be ready to use his services.
It is believed that the 30-year-old racer will leave the Repsol Honda team if the Honda RC213V for 2024 is not competitive based on test results.
