Attack on Indian Embassy in USA

New Delhi: NIA officials yesterday conducted raids at 14 locations in Punjab and Haryana in connection with the attack on the Indian Embassy in San Francisco.

On March 19, supporters of Khalistan attacked the Indian Embassy in San Francisco, USA. 2 Khalistan flags were flown in the embassy compound with pro-Khalistan slogan. These flags were immediately removed.

Subsequently, on July 2, supporters of Khalistan tried to set fire to the same embassy in San Francisco. The attack followed the killing of Khalistan separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada.  The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is investigating the attack. NIA officials visited San Francisco last August in connection with this investigation.

NIA officials are trying to gather information about the companies and individuals involved in these attacks and identify the culprits.  Meanwhile, NIA officials conducted raids at 14 places in Punjab and Haryana yesterday in connection with this attack.

The test was conducted in the districts of Moga, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Gurdaspur, Mohali and Patiala in Punjab and Kurshetra and Yamunanagar districts in Haryana. The probe was conducted to find out the full conspiracy behind the attacks on March 19 and July 2.

Digital data and other documents containing information related to the accused persons were seized in the raid. This was said by the officer.
