31-Yr-Old Journalist ‘Dies by Suicide’ in Delhi’s Pandav Nagar


A journalist allegedly died by suicide at his house in East Delhi’s Pandav Nagar Monday.

The deceased, Akashdeep Shukla, 31, was an assistant editor in the digital department of a popular news channel.

The police said no suicide note was found in his residence.

As per the police, a PCR call was made around 10.40 am from the house of the deceased. A police team rushed to the spot and found the room of the deceased locked.

DCP (East) Amrutha Guguloth said, “We called the fire brigade to break the door. After opening the door, we found the body of Shukla. He was declared dead.”

Shukla’s wife was questioned and her statement was recorded. The police said the spot was inspected by the crime investigating team.

“No foul play has been found so far… We are questioning other family members,” said the police.

Shukla is survived by his wife and two children. He hailed from Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh.
